Maker Resources

Whether you are sewing, programming, or prototyping, the following resources will help you get started.  

Silhouette provides free software called Silhouette Studio that you can download from their site.  There is also a public forum to learn more.

Spoonflower will print your custom fabric/wallpaper that you design.

You can upload designs to create patches, hats, socks, etc...  This is somewhat costly and requires a significant amount of money from the start.  A cheaper option is to do drop shipping.  See Printful. 

If you are doing clothing this is the cheaper option.  It is a drop-shipping company so you do not have to pay for the products.  You simply design them and connect the products to a store website.  They ship directly to customers.

Raspberry Pi is a full micro-computer frequently used in IoT applications.  There are lots of tutorials & resources on their page.  

Online code environment without a user login + lots of ideas, tutorials, and training on the site.  

Arduino is the OG of the maker universe.  This microprocessor can be used for a million different things.  Lots of existing code exists out there already.  

Not only a place to buy gear for your project, they also provide lots of tutorials for electronics and making things work. 

Along with Adafruit, this is the place to get your gear.  They also provide video lessons and tutorials for their products.  

GitHub is the place to find and share your code and other projects.   

Easel is the online design space for using the CNC machine. 

Glowforge is our laser engraver/cutter.  You can order proofgrade materials here and purchase designs. 

Inventables is the CNC machine that we have.  You can find other projects, tutorials, and materials at their website.
